Last Scandi Days

In my last 24 hours in Sweden (until July at least), the snow melted. One day, I was out walking through the forest in the snow, and the next it was replaced by puddles. It's amazing that beneath the snow, the grass is still green and the rocks still mossy. I think it was about 3 degrees when we went for our walk in the snow-less countryside, no need for hats or gloves. I never would have guessed how easy it is to acclimatise to the cold. It's kind of fun, being rugged up, and become breathless during a long walk in freezing temperatures, or when you're out about in town being able to duck into a shop or cafè when the winds start to blow a little too strongly, although the rushed dis-robing after you enter a comparatively boiling room gets old quickly.
It was strange to leave Sweden, and miserable to have to good-bye Mum and Noah so soon, it was the last good-bye after two-months of parting from various people. I became really attached to Dalby and Lund (and my Mum's house and cooking) in the short two weeks I was there, which of course felt like much longer. It's just really charming, and the countryside so relaxing. I can't wait to go back in July (or sooner).

I may have gone a bit crazy with pictures in this post, I was just really fascinated by the new view of the countryside!

 Night-time snow

 Not happy, Jan.

Where's the snow at, guys?

 Mole holes!

 One day mostly frozen...

.. and the next completely liquid. I guess that's a no for ice-skating.

My boy!

On top of a Bronze-Age burial hill, just the usual..

  3. I'd really like to head over to Scandi - it looks so different to everywhere I've been in Europe. And the burial hill is so cool. This is the last reference, but Aslan's How?
